Youth Group

We welcome our two new Youth Group Leaders, Mariella Gonzalez and Jon Roquet to our Religious Education program!! They are very enthusiastic and interested in having the best youth group ever!

Among some of the goals for our youth group, we will strive to facilitate a fun, dynamic and caring group of young people who will spend a good deal of time together, hopefully making lasting friendships. The grade level is Freshman through Senior year, however, this year we will open the invitation to any interested 8th graders.   They will take on challenges and becoming trend setters.

Unless the youths vote otherwise once they settle in, they will meet Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m .  They will follow a specific curriculum as the foundation of the group, but will also have the freedom to explore and satisfy the needs of the group.  Whenever they are together, and during all of their interactions with each other, they are expected to treat each other with dignity and respect as outlined in the covenant they create together with the YG Leaders.

The curricula and activities they participate in are fun, educational, and provide experiences which gives them the opportunity to develop their own spirituality and promote ethical decision-making and behavior. They will have opportunities to accept active roles in our church including being on a committee and ushering for church services.

Teens who are not children of members of our church are welcome to join the Youth Group any Sunday and see if it is a good fit for you.  Completed Registration Forms will be required after the third visit.

Extra curricula include:
· Coming of Age
· Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality program

Activities they have participated in include:
· Youth church service
· Collecting supplies for teen runaway care packages
· Overnight lock-ins
· Outings and special activities within the community
· Midwest Youth Conferences
