Becoming a Force of Nature: What Does the Earth Call Us to Do?

You can watch the sermon recording here.

In 2019, Gloria Ushigua, a South American Indigenous woman of the Sapara nation in Pastaza, Ecuador was legally declared a “force of nature” as a result of her actions as a land defender. What can her story teach us about our own relationship with land, the Earth, and Earth’s people? What does the Earth call us to do? Join Chaplain Dave and the Tree of Life UU Congregation in exploring our individual, community, and spiritual response to this call. This Sunday is a Religious Education Sunday with additional children’s programming available during the time of the service.

  • Speaker: Dave Becker
  • Worship Leader: Sue McCowin
  • Chalice Lighter: Ted Funn
  • Music: Ken Johnson

After the service, we invite you to stay for coffee and conversation. There will be an orientation for newcomers 12:15-1:15pm. During the service, we will have religious exploration for children and youth.
