What does it mean to be a Unitarian Universalist? |
The answers to this question and others about our beliefs, tenets and history can be found here. |
When are your services, and what are they like? |
Our services start at 10:45 and generally run until noon. Our worship includes a chalice lighting, unison and responsive readings, a story for all ages, hymns, meditation or prayer and a sermon. Our choir performs twice a month, and at other times we enjoy a variety of musicians and singers. |
Will you take up a collection? |
Yes, but we do not expect visitors to contribute. We invite you to be our guest! |
Where are you? Where do I park? Can I get there by bus? Where do I go when I get to the church? |
You can find directions and maps here.Parking is available on site. |
What should I wear to church? |
Come as you are. Come in whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll see a range: “Sunday best” to casual. |
Can I bring my children? |
Religious education for youth and children is an important part of our mission. Most weeks children start in the sanctuary with their families, then go to their classes after “A Story For All Ages.” At various times in the year there are intergenerational services, when children and adults participate in worship together. What makes your church different from others? |
There is no test of creed to join. Within our congregation, you’ll find diversity of belief. In our Religious Education program, we do not indoctrinate children by teaching them what they should believe. Rather, we try to spark their own curiosity about religious questions and provide them with the tools they need to make their own decisions. |
Will I be pressured to join? |
Absolutely not! We know that many people prefer to church shop anonymously before they start making relationships. We do offer a guest book to sign in the social room where we gather for coffee and conversation after the service. There are also cards there that you can fill out if you wish to be contacted by someone from the church. |
Is it true that your church is accepting of gays and lesbians? |
It’s true. As a matter of fact, we’ve committed ourselves to actively welcome gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people. That’s earned us an LGBT Welcoming Congregation designation from the Unitarian Universalist Association. We have a number of LGBT people involved in our congregation and in leadership. |
Is your building disability accessible? |
