ABOUT “A LAND TWICE PROMISED”
Israeli born and raised Noa Baum explores perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through her one-woman story play “A Land Twice Promised”.
Using mesmerizing voices, impeccable timing, and warm authenticity, Noa Baum captivates audiences as she weaves together and presents heartfelt memories and experiences of two Israelis (her and her mother) and two Palestinians (her friend Juana LaBolle and Juana’s mother) while they were residents of Jerusalem.
“A Land Twice Promised” illuminates the complex and contradictory history and emotions that surround Jerusalem for Israelis and Palestinians alike. Noa Baum is very effective in portraying both sides of the issue and de-politicizes the issue which is very hard to do, especially with it being such a sensitive, polarizing subject.
“A Land Twice Promised” is Noa Baum’s peace-building artistic effort whose goal is to build bridges of understanding and compassion among Israelis and Palestinians in hopes that this terrible conflict will someday come to an end.
