Each month starting in September we will offer an opportunity to live out our values in the community alongside our Prairie Circle UU Congregation friends. Our first event is Saturday, September 21st. We will be led on a canoe/kayak paddling trip down the Nippersink Creek through the McHenry Conservation District’s beautiful Glacial Park. Along the way we will learn about this vital water resource and be provided tools to clean up any trash we find along the way. This is part of the annual It’s Our Fox River Day celebration. You can bring your own non-motorized water craft or you can use MCCD’s canoe/kayak/paddles/life preservers for free. Shuttle service will also be provided. We will launch around 9 or 10 am and finish in the early afternoon. More details will be provided after you register and closer to the event.
Since many members of the community will be joining us, we hope you will purchase and wear a UU We Show Up t-shirt using the form below. If you plan to join us but are unable to afford a shirt, email office@treeoflifeuu.org. We encourage anyone that is able, to donate money towards scholarship shirts to make sure this opportunity is available to anyone interested regardless of financial ability (another one of our values at work).
