The second UUs WE SHOW UP event will be at the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Lake Forest in their new facility on Business Center Drive.
It will be a Sort & Pack event from 9 am- 11:30 am on Saturday, October 5th. We will be assigned to tables and then stand while we pack things, usually into mesh bags, but we won’t know what we are packing that day until we arrive. At the end of the session, everyone helps clean up their work space before leaving.
We have 20 slots reserved. To secure a spot sign up as soon as you can by emailing your name, which Congregation you attend, and your email address to Judi Young from PCUUC who will be the team leader and will register everyone. The NIFB system will send you a confirmation email as well as reminders about the event. First time volunteers will be invited to complete a user profile online and e-sign a safety waiver and media release . If you do not sign these online, you will be asked to sign a paper copy when you arrive.
We would like everyone to wear a UUs WE SHOW UP t- shirt at this event. Please purchase one by Sept. 5 from the link provided in the first event. The t-shirts will be worn at every monthly event.
