After more than 100 years at our location on Dean Street in Woodstock and another 15 years at our current location in McHenry, the Tree of Life UU Congregation is picking up its roots and heading to Crystal Lake. We will be sharing building space with Ridgefield Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church and McHenry County Jewish Congregation (MCJC) at 8505 Church St, Crystal Lake. Our last service in McHenry will be April 26th, 2026 at 10:45am. Our first service in Crystal Lake will be Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 10:00am (our new service time).
Our service will be held in the Fellowship Hall while the RCLPC congregation will have their worship service upstairs in their sanctuary. We plan to gather after service to enjoy a combined fellowship hour with coffee and treats. We think this will be a good time to collaborate on the many good works we have in common. While Tree of Life, RCLPC and MCJC will all offer their own worship services, programs and identities, we are looking forward to supporting each other around projects and causes we share in common.
Our building in McHenry on Bull Valley Road will be continuing its role as a religious gathering place as our new friends at the Gurdwara Kukh Nivaran Sahib have bought the building and anticipate holding their first service in August 2026. We at Tree of Life are proud to have played a part in extending the religious diversity of McHenry County just as we did when we welcomed Bhante Sujatha and his Blue Lotus Temple into our Woodstock facility.
This is an exciting time for all our congregations and we invite you to come experience worship and community with us.
