As temperatures plummet here in McHenry County, IL, the homeless and unhoused are still sleeping outside, in cars, or in unheated spaces like storage lockers, garages, and vacant buildings. Compassion for Campers, a ministry of Tree of Life, will once again be distributing critical survival equipment at the Community Resource Day at Willow Crystal Lake, 100 South Main Street in Crystal Lake Friday, February 3 from 10 am to 2pm as we do every 1st and 3rd Friday. Help us continue this life saving work by supporting our Faithify appeal. https://www.faithify.org/campaign/350/compassion-for-campers
Faithify is like GoFundMe but specifically for Unitarian Universalists. Our campaign has a goal of raising $3,000.00 and only has until August 1st to reach this goal. Our UU regional fundraisers were so excited about this project, they have pledged to match the $3,000 and anything over that by 20%. So your pledge will be 20% bigger if we get to our goal. What happens if we don’t reach the goal. Sadly, our program will not receive any funds. When you pledge on the Faithify appeal, they only charge your credit card if we reach the goal. So help us make this all or nothing goal to bring dignity and hope to those facing huge odds. Pledge and share this campaign with your family and friends.
