Sunday November 8 is Dawali—the Asian celebration of light overcoming darkness. Across the world’s mythologies and religions, we find this theme: good confronting—and defeating—evil. But if good does overcome evil, it’s because we choose right over wrong. Truth over lies. Compassion over cruelty. Come kindle your flame of light.

Our guest speaker this week, Jim Gould, taught Philosophy at MCC for 35 years. In retirement, he’s active in disability advocacy and immigrant protection.
