Our mindfulness practice offers a sampling of different exercises to bring deeper awareness to our daily living and to explore our connection to others and to all Life. Group practice can be a powerful supplement to living mindfully, even with just occasional participation. Our time together is a pause to untangle ourselves from the busyness of our days and to celebrate the wonder of being alive.
Whether you join us or not, please consider taking time to gift yourself with periods of stillness and gratitude. Such a gift to yourself is always a gift to others… and ultimately, to the web of all life.
Our practice is on a new platform as of September 6, 2022. Our online meditation together will largely remain the same, while at the same time we will be making our practice available for others to join us. Meditation Chapel, https://meditationchapel.org/ is an online multi-faith/inter-spiritual meditation community. The organization has created space (Zoom rooms) for many different kinds of meditation and contemplative prayer to be ongoing 24 hours a day and available to people all over the world.
A simple registration is required for the platform’s security. To register: you agree with the site rules, you give email address, name, meditation tradition (such as “Mindfulness”), country, and city/state. And that’s it. It takes less than 2 minutes. Here’s the link: https://meditationchapel.us19.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=c772dca35f9340088f1fd5d65&id=7d83c2bb65
You will receive the URL’s (web addresses) for all 7 of the Zoom meditation rooms (chapels) and those addresses are not to be shared with anyone who is not registered. As I understand it, the platform has over 9000 registered users and, I believe, 50 + groups are currently meeting and all this is carried out without passwords, waiting rooms, or bit-ly’s. So honoring this simple security control is important for the continued success of Meditation Chapel’s open format.
The name of our “Chapel” room will always be Mary of Magdala no matter what time we are meeting. You can bookmark that page once you receive the addresses (URL) so it will always be available for you to use. If you don’t know how to bookmark, please just ask.
We meet on Tuesdays 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm and Thursdays 10:00 – 11:00 am Central Time. Our meditation will always be during the first 30 – 40 minutes of meeting time. You can freely pop in and out of the practice at any time, and you can stay for just the meditation or however long suits your schedule. After our guided meditation, remaining time will be spent in growing community by using some simple prompt and offering sacred listening. This “community time” is somewhat essential as we will (potentially) be welcoming newcomers and will want avenues for getting to know one another and growing beloved community. Here is the link for the whole site’s schedule: https://meditationchapel.org/calendar/ The calendar automatically shows the times for your time zone. There are many filter functions to help narrowing a search from the many offerings.
