Caravans and Broken Vows

We are a congregation that welcomes all. In any community of people traveling through life together we will find exciting possibilities as well as unexpected challenges. How do we navigate both?

  • Speaker: Rev Jennifer Gracen
  • Worship Leader: Jesse Bowen
  • Story for All Ages: The Jug and the Rock by Faye Morgensen – Told by Rev. Jenn Gracen
  • Chalice Lighter: Brenda Clark Cox

The first service is at 9:00am Sunday, October 10, 2021. This service will be held outside on our church grounds. This will be a shortened service. We ask that all attending be masked regardless of vaccination status, socially distanced, and that you bring your own chair or blanket to sit on. We will not be providing chairs.

The second service will be online at 10:45am and will be the full service. Instructions for attending the online service are below. Since this is the Second Sunday of the month, our offering will go to Chalice House. Chalice House is a coalition of support for families and/or individuals navigating the U.S. asylum process. In this shared project, the Interfaith Community for Detained Immigrants (ICDI) provides social services and support, while Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist and its partners provide housing and hospitality in a home owned by Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist in Palatine, Illinois.

After the online service we will have coffee hour and Inquirers for newcomers. We also will have a picnic on the church grounds at 12:30. Bring your own food, chairs and/or picnic blanket.
