We are looking for a Part-time Church Administrator for 12-14 hours/week.

10am – 2pm on three – four days per week with some flexibility.
Pay: $18 / hour
Job Description:
This position provides administrative support for a Unitarian Universalist congregation. We are a progressive, inclusive community that works to nurture a community that welcomes diversity, supports the spiritual growth of its members and acts to create a more just society. The administrative functions and duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support by working closely with the Minister, other staff, committees, and the Board.
- Utilize various software applications to create, maintain, and distribute church files, documents, limited financial reports, and additional communications (such as the newsletter) as needed.
- Build and maintain appropriate professional relationships with the congregation and community through positive interactions over the phone, through written communication and in person.
- Work with volunteers on various projects.
- Oversee church facility maintenance and security operations by providing an on-site physical presence in our building and grounds.
- Promptly report any concerns regarding the congregation and facilities to the congregational leadership.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, renting church facilities, and enforcing church policies for facility use.
- Use a personal vehicle to run errands, such as banking tasks and purchasing supplies approximately once per week.
Skills required:
The ideal candidate for this position would be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively and would possess:
- A high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Efficient time management and organizational skills.
- Computer Competency (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace). Familiarity with church planning / calendar applications a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to independently solve problems as well as take direction from the Administrative Manager and Minister as needed.
Other job considerations:
- The preferred applicant will have two years of administrative, office assistant or secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Working seated at a desk is required and must be comfortable working independently.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, walk up and down stairs and navigate tight spaces.
- Own transportation is required.
Selection Requirements:
This position requires applicants to complete a phone interview as well as an onsite interview which may include a written exercise and/or computer skills assessment test. Two references are required. The candidate possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected. The candidate selected for hire must pass a background check.
