You are invited to attend and participate in the ordination of our UUCD friend, former member, and former Director of Religious Education, Dave Becker on Saturday September 26 at 3pm in our church home.
In our UU faith, the ordaining of a minister is imparted by a congregational community through public affirmation. We’re gathering to honor the deep web of relationships between community, family, love, justice, shared ministry, and the sacred. All are welcome and invited to celebrate with us—whether you join in the sanctuary or tune in from home!
Multiple congregations will be ordaining Dave including UUCD, Third Unitarian Church of Chicago, where Dave completed his ministerial internship, and the two congregations he now serves, Tree of Life and Prairie Circle UU Congregations. This community wide celebration and worship will include beautiful music from a multi-congregational choir, powerful words of inspiration for all of us as a community, and our involvement in a participatory ordination liturgy. The service will be followed by a reception with sandwiches and light refreshments. You are invited to please join in person if you are able.
