As a people of faith, we are called to meet this time of great need. We are called to stand with and for one another. Called to embody a courageous love — grown and shared in community and extended to all life around us. Honoring this call, we are joined by the Wailin’ Mahalias, as they weave musical messages of the love that binds us together in our shared humanity.

For the Wailin’ Mahalias, music is a mission. Their songs celebrate spirit, love, and the human experience, in a way that entertains, excites, and inspires. The heart and soul of Folk and Gospel are kept alive with reshaped lyrics that reach across all faiths and cultures. Vocals are wrapped in rich harmonies; instruments strike spirited chords, and while many of its members honed their harmonies in the Lake Street Church of Evanston Choir, their music is wide-ranging – inspired by a scope of artists from Joan Baez to Mahalia Jackson.
Children are invited to begin in the service and then go to WonderLab after the story for all ages. After the service, everyone is invited to stay for coffee and conversation. Our Coming of Age Youth Group will meet 12-2pm.
