PRIDE: Protest, Party, and Joyful Resistance

Is PRIDE a party or a protest? Both! And from the first PRIDE parade on June 28, 1970 to celebrations of PRIDE month today, it has been joyful resistance- a testimony to the LGBTQ+ community’s creativity, beauty, diversity, resilience, hope, and faith. This Sunday, join us in story, poetry, and song to honor and celebrate the many dimensions of PRIDE and joyful resistance that hold lessons for us all. We will be joined by musical guest, folk duo Small Potatoes.

The Small Potatoes music duo, is formed with the talents of Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso. Based in Cary, IL, they have been performing locally and nationally for well over 30 years – playing everywhere from living room concerts to large festival stages. Over the years, they managed to travel one and a half million miles to share music which captures many of life’s deepest moments, from reflective, to joyful, to poignant, and exciting. On June 29th, for worship we look forward to welcoming half of the duo. As Jacquie is dealing with health challenges, Rich will join us with music to touch the heart and lift the spirit.
