Attending to the Inner Teacher

Attending to the Inner Teacher: For this service, we’ll spend some time thinking about what Parker Palmer and others have called our Inner Teacher. Where does it come from? How do we come to pay attention to it and, ultimately, to trust its guidance? Once we do, how do we encourage its regular appearance in our lives and put its lessons into practice? A guided meditation will be part of our worship experience.

Dr. Mary Lamb Shelden is a lifelong, second-generation UU, a writer and writing teacher, a skilled facilitator and consultant, a certified religious educator, and a credentialed and commissioned spiritual director in private practice.

  • Speaker: Dr. Mary Lamb Shelden
  • Worship Leader: Linda Karlen

Children and youth are invited to begin the day in our service and then go to WonderLab after the story for all ages. After the service, everyone is invited to stay for coffee (and juice) and conversation. Coming of Age will meet 12-2 and Small Group Ministry for Parents of Adolescents will meet 12-1. Creativity Matters will meet 12-1:30pm.
